Umayyad Caliphate, Silver coinage. AR Dirham (24.5mm, 2.24 g, 3h). Herat mint. Dated AH 91 (AD 709/10). Unit of date reads wāhad; reverse margin ends al-mushrikūn. Cf. Klat 654.c (reverse margin ends al-mushrikn). Lightly clipped. VF. Very rare.

Dirham struck at Herat in AH 91 have the unit of the date written either as ihdā or wāhad, as here. Klat records only a single example of the wāhad type, which also has the abbreviated al-mushrikn at the end of the reverse margin. The present coin, with wāhad and the full al-mushrikūn in the reverse margin appears to be unpublished.

Al-‘Ajlan does not record the variety with wāhad.
