POTTERY. Iranian Plateau. circa 3,000-2,000 BCE. Terracotta. (20 cm tall x 20 cm diameter). Rounded utilitarian vessel with short neck, flared rim, and a spout rising from the shoulder. A corded handle wraps the neck and joins the spout. The surface is painted in multiple tones, with linear bands bordering the neck and lower body. Central panel features a diamond patterned web with small fourishes at the edges; additional linear motifs appear on the neck and spout. . Minor sandy accretions. Small chip on the rear of the vessel and some loss at lip, otherwise as made and intact. A truly impressive piece.
