AMPHORA was used for wine storage and placed in tombs as being for the sustenance of the deceased in the afterlife and as funerary offering to the “KA”, spirit of the dead. URAEI , royal cobras, represent the “the fiery eye of RA” and used for an superior protection. Ancient Egyptians believe that the cobras would spit fire at any approaching enemies. The hieroglyph on this scarab means that the deceased will get his wine in the afterlife because two cobras are protecting the wine amphora.
