Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (20.5mm, 4.06 g, 7h). ‘C’ mint. Struck circa AD 287-290. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / VICT GERM, trophy of arms set between two bound captives seated back to back; C. RIC V.5 (2744) (this coin cited and illustrated). Dark gray-green and brown patina, roughness, minor cleaning scratches. Near Fine. Unique. The only example cited in RIC V.5.

From the Chris Bailey Collection.

It is this cataloger’s perspective that there is no M before the C in the mint mark as is suggested as possible in fn. 2600. Regardless, a better specimen is required for confirmation.
