SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos I Nikator. Second satrapy and kingship, 312-281 BC. AR Drachm (16mm, 4.14 g, 10h). Seleukeia on the Tigris II mint. Struck circa 295-281 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right / Athena, brandishing spear overhead and holding shield, in quadriga of elephants right; monogram behind Athena, Θ above elephants. SC 131.9a var. (monogram); HGC 9, 32a. Toned. Near VF.

An interesting monogram appearing to resolve as (ΔB/T). Similar to Nomos Obolos 16, 930 and Leu Web 40, 665. CNG 133 – Session 5, 5546 appears to have an A recut from a Δ with a similar monogram as well. Perhaps warranting an additional separate entry to SC 131 but closer to SC 131.9a than to 131.5 or 131.6.

Closing Date and Time: 7 October 2026 at 11:26:40 ET.

All winning bids are subject to a 20% buyer’s fee.
