Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (23mm, 5.71 g, 6h). ‘C’ mint. Struck circa AD 288-290. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Virtus, helmeted and nude but for chlamys draped over both shoulders, standing right, holding spear and resting hand on shield set on ground to right; CXXI. RIC V.5 2846 (this coin cited). Dark green patina, trace silvering, hard green deposits. Good VF. Extremely rare. One of three examples cited in RIC V.5.
