Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (21.5mm, 4.91 g, 6h). ‘C’ mint. Struck circa AD 288-290. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Galley left, with cabin, mast, and four crew; waves below; CXXI. RIC V.5 2807 (this coin cited and illustrated). Dark green patina, some roughness. Near VF. Extremely rare. One of two examples cited in RIC V.5 and the RIC V.5 plate coin. The other example residing in the British Museum.
