Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (20mm, 3.73 g, 7h). ‘RSR’ mint. Struck circa AD 286/7. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / She-wolf standing right, head facing, suckling the twins (Romulus and Remus); RSR. RIC V.5 602 (this coin cited). Dark brown surfaces, somewhat irregular flan, minor porosity, light scratch. Near VF. Extremely rare. One of four examples cited in RIC V.5.
