AVARS. Uncertain king. Late 8th century. AR “Solidus” (20mm, 1.85 g, 5h). Imitating a Byzantine issue of Constantine V, with Leo III and IV. Two crowned facing busts / Crowned facing bust. Jónas fig. 9 (same obv. die?); Bóna –. Toned, off-center, thin flan crack. Near VF. Extremely rare.

The example published by Jónas was found in Kiskőrös, Hungary, though he suggested it was copying an issue of Constantine IV. The types are much more similar to those of Constantine V, with Leo III and IV, making this extremely rare type a very late issue for the Avars.
