Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.81 g, 6h). Uncertain Spanish mint (Colonia Patricia?). Struck circa 18 BC. Laureate head right / Temple of Mars Ultor: round-domed, tetra-style temple set on podium of three steps; within, a chariot, carrying an aquila and a miniature, galloping quadriga right. RIC I 115; RSC 280; Elkins, Monuments Figure 53. Attractive iridescent tone, minor scratches on reverse. Near EF.
