LUCANIA, Herakleia. Circa 281-278 BC. AR Nomos (21.5mm, 6.41 g, 5h). Reduced standard. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet [decorated with Skylla] throwing a stone; AΛE above, EY behind neck / Herakles standing left, hand set on grounded club to left, holding bow, lion skin draped over arm; to upper left, owl flying right, head facing. Van Keuren 105; HN Italy 1402. Old collection tone with some iridescence, a couple of light scratches on obverse. Good VF.
