Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AR Cistophorus (30mm, 11.61 g, 11h). Ephesus mint. Struck circa 24-20 BC. IMP. CAE SAR, bare head right / AVGVSTVS, altar hung with wreaths and garlanded; on front are two hinds standing right and left facing one another; all within linear border. RIC I 482; Sutherland Group VIγ, 442a (O174/R95); RSC 33; RPC I 2215; BMCRE 694-5; BN 922–6. Light iridescent tone, slightly double struck on reverse. Superb EF. A lovely coin, struck on a broad flan.
