[Oil lamps] ROMAN. Italy. Pottery erotic oil lamp. Circa 1st century AD. Length 11cm. Mold-formed with central motif of a couple seated on a low couch engaged in a rather athletic sex act. Volutes flanking nozzle, vent/fill hole, no handle. Possible potter’s stamp on base. Buff colored clay with red slip. Good condition, surfaces worn.
