[Jewelry and Ornaments] GREEK. Single gold earring. Circa 3rd-2nd century BC. Length 20mm, weight 3.14 g. Nice gold earring with spiral wire studs, terminal in the form of a lion's head on lotus base with endless spiral wire decoration. Incised detail on head and mane. Very similar to lot 2222 in Classical Numismatic Group 69, but the workmanship is not as refined. Cf. Mildenberg, Animals 156. Choice condition.
