BAKTRIA, Pre-Seleukid Era. Sophytes. Circa 305-294 BC. AR Didrachm (7.87 g, 6h). Local standard. Helmeted head of Athena right; HAP monogram in left field / Owl standing right, head facing; in left field, prow of galley right above grape bunch attached to stalk. Bopearachchi, Sophytes Type 1A; SNG ANS 4. Good VF, minor flan flaw on obverse in outer edge of helmet, minor porosity. Extremely rare denomination for this type.
