BOEOTIA, Thebes. Circa 450-440 BC. AR Stater (11.56 g). Boeotian shield / Nude Herakles advancing right, carrying off the Delphic tripod, holding club overhead in his right hand; all within square incuse. BCD Boiotia 415 var. (A inverted in ethnic); Head, Boeotia p. 31 = BMC 36, pl. XII, 6 (same rev. die). Near VF, dark gray tone, struck from worn dies. Extremely rare.
