BOIOTIA, Haliartos. Circa 475-450 BC. AR Hemidrachm (2.95g). Boiotian shield, rim divided into eight segments, side openings enhanced with crescent-like decorations / Square incuse with anticlockwise mill-sail pattern; refined aspirate in centre. SNG Lockett 1721 = Pozzi 1376 = Pozzi (Boutin) 3191 (this coin). VF, lightly toned and well centered on a full flan. A splendid example of a variety that is probably known by this specimen alone. ($1000)
