BOIOTIA, Thespiai. Early-mid 4th century BC. Æ 23mm (6.92 g). Boiotian shield of distinctive shape: in low relief, with narrow double rim / QES in large concave incuse with curved edge. Head, Boeotia p. 78, pl. V, 13 = Traité III 375, pl. CCIV, 39 = BMC 13, pl. XVI, 11 (same rev. die). VF, even brown patina, die break on reverse. Very rare. ($400)
