PISIDIA, Antioch. Gallienus. 253-268 AD. Æ 28mm (14.82 gm). Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right / COL CAE-S ANTIOCH, two cornuacopiae with male heads; grain ear or two palms between. Krzyzanowska pl. LII, VIII/31 (die combination not listed); SNG France -. Crude VF, dark green and brown patina.
From the Garth R. Drewry Collection.
According to J. G. Milne, NumChron 1947, pg. 100: "In the reign of Gallienus the mint [of Antioch] reached its lowest stage of degradation." The crudeness of this coin precisely exemplifies this statement.
