SOGDIANA. Yueh-Chi? Circa 2nd-1st century BC. AR Obol (9mm, 0.32 gm). Imitating Mithradates I of Parthia (171-138 BC). Bust left, wearing bashlyk / Archer seated right, holding bow; garbled legend. Senior -; MIG -; MACW -. VF.

The kings of Sogdiana struck crude imitative obols copying the type of the Seleukid and baktrian kings, but nonw is known with a Parthian prototype. The nomadic Yueh-Chi had conquered Sogdiana by around 128 BC, and this unrecorded obol may have been struck prior to or immediately after the conquest.
