ROMAN ERA. Roman. Bronze Fibula. Circa 2nd-3rd century AD. Length 44mm. "Bridge" type, with equal-ended terminals. A bronze fibula with heavy arched body, the terminals ending in snake heads. The open-work bridge has four cut-outs, divided by bronze posts. The top of the arch is inlaid with copper. Snake eyes inlaid at one time, now lost. Pin intact. Rare type, in choice condition, green patina with trace of original tinned surfaces. ($200)
