DIVA FAUSTINA JUNIOR, wife of Marcus Aurelius. Died 175/6 AD. Æ Sestertius (25.87 gm). Struck under Marcus Aurelius, 176 AD. Draped bust right / Throne, ornamented and draped, upon which sits sceptre; peacock standing below, tail not spread. RIC III 1705 (Aurelius); MIR 62-6/10; BMCRE 1577 note (Aurelius & Verus); Cohen 74 var. (tail spread). Good VF, dark green and olive patina. Rare variety with peacock tail not spread. ($500)
