KINGS of PONTOS. Mithradates VI. 120-63 BC. AV Stater (18mm, 8.34 gm). Tomis mint. Struck during the First Mithradatic War, 88-86 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great right, wearing horn of Ammon / Athena seated left, holding Nike, left elbow resting on her shield, transverse spear behind; six-rayed star above arm; QEM above knee, TO on throne, trident with dolphins left in exergue. De Callataÿ - (D8 [Byzantion]/R-; unlisted die combination); SNG Copenhagen (Thrace) 1091 var. (no star). VF. A reverse type unknown to De Callataÿ and apparently unpublished.

The style of this coin clearly places it late in the issue, and, although the the controls squarley attribute it to Tomis, none of the published dies display the six-rayed star.
