INDIA, Princely States. Kutch. Madanasinghji. 1947-1948. Lot of two AV. "Jai Hind-Free India" issues dated VS2004 (1947 AD). Includes the following: AV 5 Kori (Mohur)(18.73 gm). City gate within circle of leaves / Legend with crescent, trisul, knife and date. Edge lettered: KUTCH BHUJ // AV 1 Kori (4.68 gm). Legend / Legend with crescent, trisul, knife and date. Bruce XM 7-8; Friedberg 1281-1282. Both Mint State. Two (2) coins in lot. Extremely rare and historically important. ($4000)

These two coins are off-metal strikes of the silver 5 Kori and 1 Kori that commemorate the independence of India in 1947, and are among the last issues of the Indian Princely States. The reported mintages for the gold strikes are 30 pieces each.
