KINGS of PERSIS. Oborzos (Vabharz). Early-mid 3rd century BC. AR Drachm (4.12 gm). Head right, with moustache, wearing diadem and satrapal cap (kyrbasia) / Fire temple of Ahura-Mazda, on left, Oborzos standing right, to right, standard, Aramaic legend to left, right, and in exergue. Alram 531 var. (legends); cf. BMC Arabia pg. 202, 2 (uncertain ruler); De Morgan -. Toned, good VF. Rare. ($1000)

Ex Sternberg XXVII (7-8 November 1994), lot 43.

The legend on this coin is corrupted, but is similar to that on the BMC specimen referred to by Alram 531. It is possible that this is a coin of another Persid ruler.
