KINGS of ELYMAIS. Kamnaskires IV. Circa 62-55 BC. AR Drachm (3.90 gm). Dated Seleukid era 257 (56/5 BC). Diademed bust left; forepart of horse behind / [IA]CILE[WC] [KA]MNAIKIPY [TOY] EG ACILE[...] [K]AMNAIC, Zeus seated left, holding sceptre and Nike, who crowns him; monogram in inner left field, ZPS (sic; date) in exergue. Alram 462; Le Rider, Suse -; BMC Arabia -; De Morgan -; Hanson, "Coins and Mints of Ancient Elymais" in Iran, vol. XXVIII (1990), pl. I, 2 (same obverse die). Good VF. Very rare. ($500)

The date on the specimen plated in the Hanson article has a date of ZNS, appropriate for this ruler, and confirming the ZPS on the present coin is erroneous.
