PLANTAGENET. Richard II. 1377-1399. AV Noble (33mm, 7.77 g, 6h). Type IIIA. London (Tower) mint; im: –/cross pattée. Richard, holding sword and shield, standing facing in ship; ropes 3/1, quatrefoils 4/4 / Voided short cross potent over cross fleurée; in each angle, crown over lion passant over trefoil; at center, R within quadrilobe; all within polylobe, with trefoils in spandrels. Cf. Schneider 160-1 (for type); North 1303; SCBC 1656. Attractively toned, minute edge crimp at 6 o’clock, parts a little double struck. Good VF.
