ANGLO-SAXON, Kings of All England. Harold I Harefoot. 1035-1040. AR Penny (18mm, 1.06 g, 2h). Jewel Cross type (BMC i, Hild. A). Norwich mint; Æfic, moneyer. Struck 1035-circa 1038. Diademed bust left / [+ A]EFICC ON NORDPIC, cross composed of four ovals united at base by two concentric circles enclosing a pellet. SCBI 18 (Copenhagen), 454 = Bruun 1040 (this coin); North 802; SCBC 1163. A few peck marks, slight crimping, iridescent toning. Good VF.
