Trajan. AD 98-117. AR Cistophorus (24mm, 10.20 g, 7h). Uncertain mint in Asia Minor (or Rome for circulation in Asia). Group 3, circa February-autumn AD 98. Laureate head right / Distyle temple set on four-tiered base; within, cult statue of Augustus standing facing, holding spear, being crowned with wreath by female figure (Fortuna) holding cornucopia; ROMA ET AVG across entablature. RIC II 723 corr. (legend on entablature); Woytek, Cistophore Type 11 (this coin referenced and illustrated); RPC III 1320 (this coin referenced); RSC 610 corr. (same). Iridescent, old cabinet tone. Good VF. Well centered. Only five other examples in CoinArchives. Rare.
