[Babelon, E.] Morgan, J. de. Traité des monnaies grecques et romaines. III. Monnaies orientales. Tome I. Numismatique de la Perse antique. (Paris; Librarie Ernst Leroux, 1927-33). Five parts (three fascicules) bound into two volumes. 8vo and 4to. 738 + 111 pages; 76 superb plates, 2 folding, 2 folding genealogical tables. Attractively bound in recent half leather and marbled boards with the original printed card covers preserved, green morocco title labels to the spine, gilt. Very Fine condition, a trifle scuffed at extremities, and a few marks to the original printed cover of Tome I, the contents otherwise little used and clean throughout. A very attractive set of this rarely seen, final section of Babelon’s famous Traité, dedicated to ancient Persian coins. Written by De Morgan but published after both his and Babelon’s death in 1924.
