ROMAN. Unusual erotic bronze amulet. Circa 2nd-3rd Century AD. Length 33mm. Amulet in the form of a hinged locket, suggesting the female genitalia, with the cover bearing the depiction of a male phallus. The cover shows traces of enamel, while the base has three holes drilled through it. Perhaps intended to hold a love potion to be surreptitiously given to a potential lover! Very intriguing! Intact with light green patina. ($200)
