LUCANIA, Metapontion. Circa 470-440 BC. AR Nomos (19mm, 7.83 g, 6h). Ear of barley with six grains / Incuse ear of barley with six grains. Noe 239/238 (for obv./rev. dies); HN Italy 1484; SNG ANS 233. Near VF, some roughness on obverse. Unusually detailed reverse.

Unusually for an incuse type, the obverse and reverse dies for this nomos are rotated 180 degrees.
