Dually dated 1672 and 1878. TEMPLE BAR : ERECTED 1672, DEMOLISHED 1878; THIS EFFIG OF IT WAS STRUCK FROM THE LEAD FORMERLY ON THE ROOF (monogram on shield), façade of the Temple Bar Gate; below, ribbon inscribed SIR C. WREN ARCHT. Set in bronze and glass border form with beaded central border. BHM 3051; Eimer 1658. EF. The rarest of the City of London medals.
