ANGLO-SAXON, Substantive Gold Phase. Circa 630-650. AV Thrymsa – Shilling (12mm, 1.28 g). Witmen-derived (’Wuneetton’) type. Mint in Kent(?). Head right with two-banded collar with pellets; to right, trident with split base / Cross pattée; retrograde WVNEBETTON around. Coin Register 2009, no. 57 = EMC 2008.0282 (this coin); Sutherland Type IV.Iii, unlisted dies; A&W Type V.xiv; Metcalf 77; SCBI 63 (BM), 12-14; SCBI 69 (Abramson), 4; North 26; SCBC 761. Good VF, minor flatness. Very rare.
