BRUTTIUM, Kroton. Circa 300-250 BC. AR Oktobol or Half Nomos(?) (16mm, 3.11 g, 4h). Reduced standard. Head of male (Herakles or river-god?) right, wearing tainia; K-P-O around neck truncation / Owl standing left, head facing, on grain ear left; KPO to right. Attianese 152 (this coin illustrated); HN Italy 2195; Demeester 15 (this coin); de Luynes 738 (same rev. die). Near EF, wonderful old cabinet tone. Very rare with ethnic on obverse.
