ARKADIA, Arkadian League. Circa 465-460 BC. AR Triobol – Hemidrachm (15mm, 2.76 g, 6h). Kleitor mint. Zeus Lykaios seated left, holding scepter; eagle flying left from his hand / Head of Kallisto left within incuse square. Williams, Confederate, Period II, 48 (O38/R31); BCD Peloponnesos (Kleitor) 1412.1 (same dies); HGC 5, 867 (same dies as illustration). VF, toned, banker’s mark on obverse.

From BCD Peloponnesos: “This ... hemidrachm [is one of] the only coins of the Arkadian League to bear a head of Kallisto wearing an olive wreath with upright leaves. Williams saw this as a conscious imitation of the then new Athenian tetradrachms that showed Athena in a helmet adorned with an olive wreath; he, thus, dated the Arkadian issues to c. 477-c. 468. However, Kraay (ACGC p. 97) revised the date of Williams Period II to c. 465-460 on the basis of later research into the Athenian coins, which place the Athenian prototypes no earlier than 470/469.”
