LESBOS, Uncertain. Circa 500-450 BC. Billon Hemidrachm (1.79 gm). Heads of two confronted boars / Quadripartite incuse square. BMC Troas pg.173, 2 (same dies); Rosen 541. Toned VF. Rare. ($250)

Same type as Triton VI (14-15 January 2003), lot 331. This issue is quite variable in weight (1.29 gm to 2.60 gm for the published specimens), and appears to be of better quality silver than the normal billon coins struck for Lesbos during this period.
