HANOVER. George III. 1760-1820. Bronzed CU Pattern Halfpenny (31mm, 17.87 g, 6h). Restrike issue. By W. Taylor after C. H. Küchler. Dated 1797. Laureate and draped bust right; K on truncation of arm / Britannia seated left on rocky outcropping with SOHO and triple pellets above, holding olive branch and trident; Union shield to right; in background to left, ship under sail right on sea; 1797 in incuse in exergue. Peck 1167. Superb EF, attractive red-brown toning, some finger marks. Very rare.
