This type refers to the Battle of Lake Regillus (circa 496 BC), at which the Roman army, under the command of A. Postumius Albus, defeated the Latin League, led by Tarquin the Proud, the former king of Rome. Prior to the battle, the Romans made a special sacrifice to Diana at her temple on the Aventine Hill.
