ISLANDS off IONIA, Chios. Circa 210-190 BC. AR Tetradrachm (33.5mm, 16.97 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, monogram above sphinx seated left on thunderbolt. Bauslaugh, Posthumous, Series 55, dies 63/164; Price 2403; HGC 6, 1133. Near EF, toned, a few marks, minor die break on reverse. Very rare, seven examples cited by Bauslaugh (including the two pieces in Pella), none in CoinArchives.
