Collector’s note: “This lovely and rare medal was engraved for a Medical Conference about Mineral Water in the twenties.

Raoul Bénard (1881-1961) was pupil to the famous medallists Chaplain, Vernon and Patey and won the Great Prize of Rome in 1911. Bénard was awarded a silver medal at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1922 and a gold medal in 1924. He became a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in 1927.
