NERO. 54-68 AD. Æ Contorniate (34mm, 18.16 gm). Struck circa 4th Century AD. Laureate head right; PE monogram engraved before in right field / Roma seated left on cuirass, holding Victory and parazonium. Alfoldi pl. 97, 6 var. Fine, brown patina, some reddish encrustation spots including one on Nero's head, numerous edge bumps. Possibly made from an original sestertius, but the weight is quite light.
