Claudius II Gothicus. AD 268-270. Antoninianus (22mm, 3.80 g, 12h). Smyrna mint, 1st officina. 1st emission, Phase 2, circa late AD 268-early AD 269. IMP C M AVR CLAVDIVS AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust left; • below / VEN-VS AVG, Venus standing left, holding helmet and spear, with shield at side; –/–//SPQR. Normanby –; RIC V –; RIC Online –. Near VF, black patina with a dusting of earthen deposits. Extremely rare and possibly unique.
