Anonymous. 128 BC. Æ Triens (20mm, 6.20 g, 1h). Anonymous series with elephant’s head. Rome mint. Helmeted head of Minerva right; four pellets (mark of value) to left / Prow of galley right; above, elephant’s head right, four pellets (mark of value) to right, ROMA below. Crawford 262/3; Sydenham 497a; Type as RBW 1062. VF, dark green patina with traces of red, some roughness. Rare.

The denarius in this series is usually attributed to L. Caecilius Metellus Diadematus (Caecilia 38), but Crawford and Roberto Russo (RBW Collection) prefer the Anonymous designation.
