Laureate and cuirassed bust right, holding spear over shoulder; aegis on breastplate / ΠЄPINΘЄIΩN/ AKTIA ΠVΘI/A/ NЄΩKOPΩ/N, two temples seen in perspective; above, two agonistic crowns, each with palm. Schönert, Perinthos 601; Varbanov 3887. VF, green patina, minor roughness, patina chipped around edge. Artistic bust.


Perinthos hosted the combined Pythian-Actian Games in Caracalla’s honor as the emperor made his way east to campaign against the Persians.
