MYSIA, Kyzikos. Circa 450-330 BC. Fourrée Hemihekte – Twelfth Stater (8mm, 0.90 g). Boy seated facing, head right, legs splayed to left, holding in his right hand a tunny fish by the tail / Quadripartite incuse square. For prototype, cf. Von Fritze I 169; cf. Boston MFA 1511 = Warren 1508; cf. SNG BN 316 (all staters). VF, plating broken in spots.

Official (non-fourrée) hemihektai of this issue, Fritze 169, are extremely rare. None were known at the time S. Hurter and H.-J. Liewald wrote their article on new denominations in the series, but one came to light recently (cf. Nomos Obolos 6, lot 474).
