The Caesarians. Julius Caesar. Late spring-early summer 48 BC. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.74 g, 1h). Military mint traveling with Caesar. Diademed female head (Clementia?) right, wearing oak wreath; LII (= 52, Caesar's age) behind / Gallic trophy, holding oval shield and carnyx; securis surmounted by wolf’s head to right. Crawford 452/2; CRI 11; Sydenham 1009; RSC 18; DCA 937. Good VF, toned, three test marks and graffiti in the right obverse field.
