From the collection of the late Manzoor Mirza.

Classical Numismatic Group is pleased to present selections from the collection of the late Manzoor Mirza. Born in 1933 in Lalamusa, Mr. Mirza was an electrical engineer whose love of history drew him to numismatics. Along with the assistance of William Spengler, Mr. Mirza discovered the burial site of the Ghurid ruler, Sultan Muizuddin Muhammad bin Sam. He worked closely with Mr. Spengler, supporting his research by providing important numismatic data and related material. Although he had expertise in the coinage of the Arab world, Iran, Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan, Mr. Mirza's special interest was the coinage of the Mughal Empire. Among other coins of his found in the Islamic and World sections of this sale, the majority of his coins herein are Indian, with particular emphasis on his Mughal collection. To assist the buyer, all coins in this sale from Mr. Mirza's collection are listed with the pedigree, "From the collection of the late Manzoor Mirza".
