THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid-late 2nd century BC. AR Stater (19mm, 5.85 g, 12h). Head of Zeus right, wearing oak wreath; monogram behind / ΘEΣΣA-ΛΩN, Athena Itonia right; monogram to inner right. BCD Thessaly II 855.1; HGC 4, 208. Near VF, toned. Very rare, staters with this control were unpublished prior to the BCD (Triton) catalog.
