KINGS of THRACE, Macedonian. Lysimachos. 305-281 BC. AR Drachm (19mm, 4.18 g, 12h). Ephesos mint. Struck circa 294-287 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background; tripod to inner left, ZII in exergue. Thompson 170 var. (monogram in exergue); Müller 335 var. (nothing in exergue); M&M AG FPL 220, no. 14 (same dies). VF, toned, a few light marks, struck with worn reverse die, a few light deposits on reverse. Very rare variety with ZII.

Struck from the same obverse die as specimens with Z and ZI in exergue (see, respectively, lot 66, above, and NFA Summer MBS [June 1986], lot 162), as well as the type with the monogram in the exergue, per Thompson 170 (see M&M AG FPL 282, no. 11).
